i've been meaning to harvest some of the figs from the tree in my backyard, but somehow i haven't had the desire to go back there. it could be because i've been trying to smoke less and just one step outside signals an opportunity for a quick drag. i wrote half an album's worth of new music at the beginning of summer and have been intentionally (and unintentionally) ignoring all those songs hoping i might come back to them again now with new ears and shifted perspectives. i felt some pressure to get music out, but now i just feel pressure to make it good. the year of the fire horse began to burn bright for me these last couple months. a sudden hot rush to the head is now starting to settle into what feels like embers glowing. i spent this weekend cleaning up my studio, once again bringing out my live rig in anticipation of sculpting its new iteration. i've been drinking a lot of celsius, and continually getting worse at answering text messages.
